Baglung District Latitude 28: Degrees 15 minutes to 28 37 minutes to 83 degrees 00 minutes to 83-36 East Boundaries: East - Parbat, West Rukum, Rolpa, North - Myagdi District and South - Gulmi and Pyuthan Districts. It is spread over 1784 square kilometers. Baglung, the headquarters of Dhaulagiri zone, which is the headquarters of this district, and Baglung, the headquarters of Baglung district, Dhaulagiri Hospital in Baglung, Ward No. 2. It was established as a dispensary in 2015 and upgraded to a health center in 2016. Later, from the year 2033, this hospital operated its services as Baglung District Hospital. Healthcare is an essential service for humans. It is the duty of the state to provide health services at the public level in an easy, secure, transparent and accessible manner. By developing and promoting modern and traditional health treatment methods, improving the physical and mental health of common citizens, effectively preventing diseases and arranging appropriate treatment arrangements, creating policies, implementing, monitoring and evaluating health care programs with the involvement of non-governmental organizations and the private sector. The objective of the Ministry of Social Development and Health is to bring about positive changes in the standard of living of the common people. In accordance with this objective, during the expansion of health services, Baglung Hospital was upgraded and upgraded as Dhaulagiri Zonal Hospital from 2067 Kartik and specialist services were started. About 600,000 people from all the four districts of Dhaulagiri, Parbat, Myagdi, Mustang and Baglung have benefited from this. The Nepal government has decided to upgrade this hospital to 200 beds and the DPR report is about to come.
Currently, there are 15 specialist level doctors including 1 medical superintendent in this hospital (former regional hospital). Similarly, there are 78 posts approved by the Government of Nepal including Medical Officer, Nursing Officer, Lab Technologist, Radiologist Staff Nurse, Paramedics and others. A total of 31 peoples are working at different levels from the hospital management committee at the local level to make the services of the hospital effective. 3 Medical Officer in Hospital are vacant and 3 are on study leave. As some medical officers and specialist doctors have been assigned to the contract service by the Government of Nepal, the service has been expanded and Major Operation services have been conducted. Due to lack of specialist doctors in government recruitment, it is difficult to provide specialist services from this hospital. In the hospital, regular emergency services, external and internal services along with obstetrics, lab radiology, endoscopy, ultrasound services are in operation 24 hours a day. In addition to this, this hospital also provides free blood tests, counseling and counseling services for HIV infected people and ART services for free drugs for people with AIDS. Also, this hospital is conducting regular trainings like SBA, MLP under the health training center. The Nepal Government's OCMC program (Hospital-based Gender Violence Crisis Management Center) is also operated in this hospital in which people suffering from gender violence can receive free health services as well as psychosocial and psychosocial services and get additional advice and support for legal treatment. A nutritional rehabilitation home has been established in the hospital and is now operational. Due to this, malnourished children below 14 years of age are receiving residential treatment with nutritious food. Now regular physiotherapy services are also provided from this hospital. Social Service Unit (SSU) has been established and operated to ensure the access of the target group to the services provided by the hospital from the financial year 2073 and 2074. This hospital has also been developed as a sentinel site for epidemic diseases (EWARS Sentinel Site) and regular reports have been made. In the hospital, the hospital has run a pharmacy service through which medicines are available 24 hours a day at affordable rates. In addition, there is a situation where the electricity of Nepal Electricity Authority has not been used less in the hospital premises by installing a 52-kilowatt solar power system. The PCR lab has been operational in the hospital since this year.
Thus, in this hospital, which is the only specialist service in the area of Savik, where there are a majority of remote and backward communities, the building is currently under construction and there is a vacancy for specialists and other government personnel, it seems that the availability of suitable medical equipment as well as the manpower according to the post should be completed. Through which the poor and needy people at the local level and those who have no access to health will be able to get the fundamental right to health treatment and more support will be given to implement the health policy brought by the government of Nepal. In providing appropriate counseling, the Ministry of Social Development and Health, Gandaki Province, Pokhara Health Directorate has received significant support and facilitation from Gandaki Province Pokhara. Also, in the coming days, it is expected to receive more important guidance, advice, suggestions and support to expand the hospital.
